Fieldbus communication Slot E

Vacon · NXP AFE-II Drive

What does F67 mean?

The data connection between the fieldbus Master and the fieldbus option board installed in Slot E has been broken. This results in a loss of communication with the control system.

Common Causes

  • Physical disconnection or damage to the fieldbus communication cable (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet) connected to the option board in Slot E.
  • Incorrect termination or missing termination resistors on the fieldbus network segment, leading to signal reflection.
  • Faulty fieldbus option board installed in Slot E, preventing proper initialization or data exchange.
  • Incorrect fieldbus address (e.g., P6-03) or baud rate (e.g., P6-04) configuration on the drive or the fieldbus master.
  • Failure or malfunction of the fieldbus master device (e.g., PLC, DCS) preventing communication with the drive.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the fieldbus cable connected to the option board in Slot E for damage and ensure it is securely connected.

  2. 2

Verify correct fieldbus termination resistors are installed at both ends of the fieldbus segment.

  3. 3

Check the fieldbus address parameter (e.g., P6-03) on the drive to ensure it matches the fieldbus master's configuration.

  4. 4

Observe diagnostic LEDs on the fieldbus option board in Slot E for status indications (e.g., link status, error codes).

  5. 5

Use a fieldbus network analyzer tool to diagnose signal integrity and message traffic on the affected bus segment.

  6. 6

Swap the fieldbus option board in Slot E with a known-good board to determine if the board itself is defective.
