Overvoltage

Vacon · 20 Compact

What does 2 mean?

The DC-link voltage within the frequency converter has exceeded its internal safety limit. This commonly occurs when the motor regenerates energy back to the drive, especially if the deceleration time is set too short. High overvoltage peaks in the mains supply can also contribute to this fault.

Common Causes

  • DC bus voltage exceeds safe operating limit.
  • Regenerative braking energy not being dissipated.
  • External braking resistor failure.
  • Overvoltage during deceleration ramps.
  • Input voltage too high for the converter rating.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Increase the deceleration time parameter (Par.4.3 or Par.4.6) to allow for a more gradual stop and reduce regenerative energy.
