15
Motor stalled
Vacon · NXP/C
What does 15 mean?
The motor stall protection has tripped, indicating that the motor has either stopped or is operating at a very low speed under a load that exceeds its capacity. This condition can lead to motor overheating and mechanical damage.
Common Causes
- Motor shaft rotation is blocked or severely restricted.
- Overly high starting torque demand.
- Mechanical binding in the driven equipment.
- Incorrect motor tuning parameters (P1-10 to P1-15).
- Low supply voltage affecting motor torque.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Inspect the motor and its driven load for any mechanical obstructions, binding, or excessive friction that would prevent free rotation.
- 2
Evaluate the mechanical load connected to the motor; reduce the load if it is exceeding the motor's rated capacity or the drive's settings.
- 3
Verify that the motor parameters (e.g., motor nominal current, stall time) are correctly configured in the frequency converter.
