Safely power down the drive, then visually inspect the option board and its slot for foreign objects, debris, or bent pins.
Carefully remove the option board and then firmly reseat it in its slot, ensuring a secure and flush connection.
Test the drive with a known good option board (if available) to determine if the fault lies with the board or the drive's main unit.
Measure continuity between specific pins on the option board connector and the drive's corresponding connector (referencing pinouts).
Inspect the drive's main control board connector for any damage or contamination that could prevent proper contact with the option board.
