An input fault on the option board or an A/D converter fault on the option card. This indicates a problem with the option board's ability to process analog inputs or a fault with its internal converter, affecting external sensor readings.
Click steps to track your progress.
Safely power down the drive and remove all analog input wiring from the option card's terminals (e.g., AI1, AI2).
Visually inspect the option card for any signs of damage, overheating, or contamination, particularly around the analog input section.
Verify the specifications of any connected analog sensors (e.g., 0-10V, 4-20mA) and ensure they match the option card's input range.
Using a multimeter, test the integrity of the ground connection for the option card's analog inputs to prevent ground loops.
Temporarily replace the option card with a known good unit to determine if the fault is with the card itself.
Measure the voltage on the option card's analog input terminals (e.g., AI1 to GND) without a sensor connected to check for internal bias.
