Yaskawa · F7 Drive
A fault with the Drive's internal cooling fan has been detected, leading to the activation of Drive overload protection due to excessive internal thermal value. This typically occurs when the fan stops running and the Drive continues operating under load, causing heat to build up. Unresolved, this will lead to repeated overheating faults and potential damage to the Drive's power components.
Click steps to track your progress.
Power down the Drive and carefully inspect the cooling fan blades and vents for dust accumulation or obstructions.
Measure the voltage supplied to the cooling fan terminals (e.g., 230VAC or 24VDC) to confirm it matches the fan's rating.
Manually attempt to spin the fan blades (with power off) to check for binding or excessive resistance.
Monitor the internal temperature of the Drive (if parameter available, e.g., U1-01) after clearing obstructions to observe cooling performance.
Consider the ambient temperature of the installation area; ensure it remains within the Drive's specified operating range (e.g., 0-50°C).
