Pre-charge

Pre-charge Alarm

Yaskawa · iQp1000

What does Pre-charge mean?

The iQpump VTC operator display indicates a “Pre-charge” alarm when the pre-charge function is active. The iQpump VTC will stop when the feedback signal rises above the P4-01 level, the pre-charge timer P4-03 expires, or the low water digital input (H1-XX = 85) is deactivated. This alarm is only active in the stopped mode.

Common Causes

  • The feedback signal exceeds the programmed P4-01 (Pre-Charge Level) during the pre-charge operation.
  • The maximum allowed pre-charge time, set by P4-03 (Pre-Charge Time), has expired.
  • The low water digital input (H1-XX = 85) becomes deactivated, indicating a low water condition during pre-charge.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the feedback signal and compare it to the P4-01 (Pre-Charge Level) setting; adjust P4-01 if the level is incorrect for the application.

  2. 2

Check the P4-03 (Pre-Charge Time) parameter; ensure it is set appropriately for the system's pre-charge duration.

  3. 3

Monitor the status of the low water digital input connected to terminal H1-XX and verify it is active (e.g., 24VDC) if low water deactivation is the cause.

  4. 4

Ensure the system is adequately filled with water or fluid before activating the pre-charge function.
