oL1

Motor Overload

Yaskawa · P1000

What does oL1 mean?

The motor connected to the drive has been operating under an overload condition, exceeding its thermal limits. This can lead to motor damage or reduced lifespan.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify programmed motor nameplate data (e.g., rated current, voltage, frequency) in the Yaskawa P1000 drive parameters (e.g., E1-xx series) against the actual connected motor's nameplate.

  2. 2

Inspect the driven machinery and motor shaft for any mechanical binding, obstructions, or excessive friction that would increase the motor's load.

  3. 3

Inspect motor wiring connections at the drive output terminals (U, V, W) and the motor terminal box for tightness, corrosion, or signs of damage.

  4. 4

Measure the actual motor operating current on each phase using a clamp meter and compare it to the motor's nameplate Full Load Amps (FLA) under typical load conditions.

  5. 5

Check the motor's cooling fan and cooling fins for obstructions or excessive dust buildup to ensure proper thermal dissipation.
