CP1

Comparator 1 Limit Error

Yaskawa · V1000

What does CP1 mean?

This fault activates when the monitored value, selected in H2-20 [Comparator 1 Monitor Selection], falls within the predefined range set by H2-21 [Comparator 1 Lower Limit] and H2-22 [Comparator 1 Upper Limit]. It signals that a critical process variable has entered a restricted operating window, indicating an abnormal condition that requires immediate investigation to prevent operational issues.

Common Causes

  • The process variable monitored by H2-20 (Comparator 1 Monitor Selection) has entered its critical operating range.
  • H2-21 (Comparator 1 Lower Limit) or H2-22 (Comparator 1 Upper Limit) are set too broadly or too narrowly.
  • The sensor providing the input for the monitored parameter is faulty or provides an incorrect reading.
  • Normal process fluctuations temporarily pushing the monitored value into the defined range.
  • External control system or PLC logic issue that maintains the monitored value within the fault range.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Identify the parameter selected by H2-20 (e.g., U1-01, U1-03) and monitor its real-time value.

  2. 2

Verify H2-21 (Comparator 1 Lower Limit) and H2-22 (Comparator 1 Upper Limit) accurately define the desired fault window.

  3. 3

Calibrate or replace the sensor connected to the analog input channel corresponding to H2-20.

  4. 4

Observe the monitored process variable during normal operation to confirm its expected range.

  5. 5

Adjust H2-21 and H2-22 to reflect the actual acceptable operating limits for the application.
