CPF00

Control Circuit Error

Yaskawa · V1000

What does CPF00 mean?

This fault indicates a general hardware problem within the drive's control circuit. Such internal issues can prevent the drive from functioning correctly and may lead to complete operational failure. Continued use with this fault can exacerbate internal damage to sensitive electronic components.

Common Causes

  • Failure of the internal 5VDC or 3.3VDC switching power supply on the control board due to aged electrolytic capacitors or overload.
  • Corrupted bootloader or application firmware within the drive's Flash memory, preventing the main CPU from initializing correctly.
  • Intermittent fault with the communication bus (e.g., SPI or I2C) between the main processor and an auxiliary control chip (e.g., I/O handler).
  • Physical damage or degradation of the main control circuit's PCB, potentially due to thermal cycling or vibrational stress.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Record all active parameter settings (e.g., P1-01, P5-02) to allow for restoration after a reset.

  2. 2

Completely remove input power (main AC and auxiliary DC control) for a minimum of 5 minutes to ensure full power discharge.

  3. 3

Visually inspect the main control board for swollen capacitors, discolored components, or cold solder joints on IC leads.

  4. 4

Measure the incoming auxiliary control voltage at terminals X1:1 and X1:2; it must be stable and within specified limits (e.g., 24VDC ±10%).

  5. 5

Attempt a factory default parameter reset (e.g., set P1-00 to 1 or P0-01 to 0), then re-enter the recorded parameters.

  6. 6

If available, connect to the drive's programming port (e.g., USB, Ethernet) and attempt to re-install the latest version of the drive's firmware.
