CPF06

EEPROM Memory Data Error

Yaskawa · V1000

What does CPF06 mean?

This fault occurs if the drive's power supply was de-energized while a communication option card was writing parameters, or if an EEPROM peripheral circuit error occurred. This means data written to the drive's EEPROM may be corrupted, affecting parameter integrity and proper drive operation. This impacts the drive's ability to store and recall critical settings.

Common Causes

  • Unstable or intermittent control power supply (e.g., 24VDC) causing write errors to EEPROM.
  • Communication option card attempting to write parameters during a drive power loss event.
  • Internal EEPROM peripheral circuit hardware degradation or failure.
  • Electromagnetic interference (EMI) disrupting EEPROM write/read operations (verify grounding).
  • Corrupted parameter data due to an abrupt power cycle during a write operation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Cycle the drive's main power supply (L1, L2, L3) and control power (e.g., 24VDC) completely off and on.

  2. 2

    2. Check the stability of the external control power supply (e.g., 24VDC) at terminals X1:1 and X1:2 with a multimeter.

  3. 3

    3. Verify all communication option cards are securely seated in their slots.

  4. 4

    4. Attempt to reload factory default parameters (e.g., P7-01 = 2220) and then re-enter application-specific parameters.

  5. 5

    5. If an external communication card is present, temporarily remove it and re-test drive operation to isolate the fault.

  6. 6

    6. Ensure proper grounding of the drive and control cabinet to minimize EMI.
