CPF13

Control Circuit Error

Yaskawa · V1000

What does CPF13 mean?

This fault indicates a general hardware problem within the drive's control circuit. Such internal issues can prevent the drive from functioning correctly and may lead to complete operational failure. Continued use with this fault can exacerbate internal damage to sensitive electronic components.

Common Causes

  • Hardware failure in the drive's internal watch-dog timer circuit, causing spurious resets or system freezes.
  • Input power transient (sag or swell) that disturbed the control board's sensitive voltage regulators, causing a momentary logic error.
  • Corrupted parameter data related to motor identification or control loop tuning (e.g., P3-01, P3-02).
  • Micro-fractures on the control board PCB due to repeated thermal expansion/contraction cycles.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the drive's input power quality using a power analyzer to detect voltage sags or transients.

  2. 2

Power down the drive completely (main and control power) for a minimum of 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Visually examine the control board for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks in the PCB or lifted traces.

  4. 4

Confirm the proper connection and seating of all internal communication cables within the drive's chassis.

  5. 5

Try to upload the parameters, then perform a factory default reset (e.g., P1-00 to 1), and then re-download previous parameters.

  6. 6

If unsuccessful, consider swapping the control board with a known good spare.
