This fault indicates that an external device triggered a fault via the Multi-Function Digital Input (MFDI) terminal S6, or there is incorrect wiring to S6, or the terminal is incorrectly configured for an external fault despite not being in use. This causes the drive to halt operation based on an external signal, potentially stopping connected machinery.
Click steps to track your progress.
Inspect all wiring and terminal connections at S6 for physical damage, corrosion, or looseness.
Verify the state of the external interlock or safety switch connected to S6. Actuate it manually and confirm its output.
Check drive parameter P2-06 (or equivalent) to ensure S6 is correctly configured as an external fault input with the appropriate logic (e.g., Normally Closed).
Measure the voltage at terminal S6 relative to SC (common) using a multimeter to confirm the signal status.
Temporarily bypass the external device by jumpering S6 to SC. If the fault clears, the device or its cabling is the issue.
