Option Board Missing / Pulse Input Conflict

Yaskawa · V1000

What does oPE05 mean?

This error occurs either when the run command source (b1-02) or frequency reference source (b1-01) is set to an option board (value 3) that is not physically installed, or when the frequency reference source is set to pulse input but H6-01 is not set to 0. This indicates a conflict in the drive's control source configuration.

Common Causes

  • Parameter b1-01 (Frequency Reference Source) or b1-02 (Run Command Source) is configured to use an option board (e.g., set to value '3') which is not physically installed in the drive.
  • An option board was removed from the drive, but the corresponding source parameters (b1-01, b1-02) were not updated.
  • A parameter configuration file from a drive equipped with an option board was loaded onto a drive without that board.
  • Frequency reference source (b1-01) is set to Pulse Input while another parameter (e.g., H3-01/H3-02 for analog input) has a conflicting assignment.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Physically inspect the drive to confirm whether the required option board (e.g., communication card, I/O expansion) is installed in its designated slot.

  2. 2

    2. If an option board is expected but missing, install the correct option board.

  3. 3

    3. If no option board is intended, access Parameter b1-01 (Frequency Reference Source) and Parameter b1-02 (Run Command Source).

  4. 4

    4. Change b1-01 and b1-02 to a valid internal source (e.g., '0' for keypad, '1' for analog input, '2' for digital input) that does not rely on a missing option board.

  5. 5

    5. If the issue is a pulse input conflict, ensure parameters for other input types (e.g., H3-01 for Analog Input 1) are not configured to use the same physical terminals or functions as the pulse input.

  6. 6

    6. Perform a drive power cycle after setting the parameters.
