oPE08

Function Incompatible with Control Mode

Yaskawa · V1000

What does oPE08 mean?

A parameter or function has been configured that is not supported or compatible with the currently selected control mode of the drive. This error often arises after a control mode change, requiring a thorough review of parameter settings to match the new mode of operation.

Common Causes

  • Drive control method (Parameter A1-02, e.g., V/f, Sensorless Vector, Closed Loop Vector) was changed, and a previously configured parameter is incompatible with the new mode.
  • Attempting to use advanced motor control functions (e.g., flux vector tuning, auto-tuning) while the drive is set to a basic V/f control mode.
  • PID function (e.g., b3-01) is enabled or configured, but the selected control mode (A1-02) does not support integrated PID.
  • Specific output functions (e.g., pulse output, specific relay functions) are not available in the currently selected control mode.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Identify the currently selected drive control method by checking Parameter A1-02.

  2. 2

    2. Determine which specific parameter or function (often indicated by the fault message or recent changes) is causing the incompatibility.

  3. 3

    3. Refer to the drive's programming manual to verify which parameters and functions are compatible with the control mode set in A1-02.

  4. 4

    4. Either change the incompatible parameter/function to a compatible setting or adjust Parameter A1-02 to a control mode that supports the desired function.

  5. 5

    5. Perform a parameter initialization (Parameter A1-03) to reset all parameters to default for the current control mode, then reconfigure from scratch if necessary.

  6. 6

    6. Perform a drive power cycle after setting the parameters.
