Keypad Connection Fault

Yaskawa · V1000

What does oPr mean?

This fault indicates that the keypad is not securely connected to the drive's connector or that the connection cable is damaged or disconnected. This fault triggers when keypad disconnect detection is enabled (o2-06=1) and the drive is configured for keypad run command (b1-02=0) or is operating in LOCAL mode. A faulty connection prevents proper drive control and monitoring, impacting operational safety and efficiency.

Common Causes

  • Keypad not fully seated into the drive's interface connector.
  • Damaged or bent pins on the keypad or drive's connector.
  • Keypad connection cable (if external) is damaged, frayed, or has a loose connection.
  • Debris or contamination on the connector contacts preventing proper electrical connection.
  • Keypad disconnect detection parameter (e.g., F6-xx for keypad monitoring) is enabled and detecting a momentary disconnect.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Disconnect all incoming AC power (L1, L2, L3) and control power (e.g., 24VDC) to the drive.

  2. 2

    2. Carefully remove the keypad from the drive.

  3. 3

    3. Inspect the connector pins on both the keypad and the drive for damage, bending, or corrosion.

  4. 4

    4. Clean connector contacts with a lint-free cloth and electrical contact cleaner if contamination is present.

  5. 5

    5. Re-seat the keypad firmly until it clicks or engages positively. If an external cable is used, check both ends of the cable.

  6. 6

    6. If the fault persists, try replacing the keypad or the external keypad cable with a known good unit.
