Er - 03

Auto-tuning Interrupted

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does Er - 03 mean?

The auto-tuning process was interrupted because the STOP key was pressed during its operation. This is a user-initiated stop, not an actual system fault, and prevents the tuning from completing.

Common Causes

  • Operator inadvertently pressed the STOP key on the drive keypad during the auto-tuning sequence.
  • External E-STOP or a control input configured to stop the drive was activated during tuning.
  • Momentary loss of control power or power dip interrupting the drive's operation during tuning.
  • Communication timeout from a master device (e.g., PLC) configured to stop the drive on error, triggered by tuning delays.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Ensure no operator interaction with the drive keypad or external stop buttons during the auto-tuning process.

  2. 2

    2. Verify that no external emergency stop (E-STOP) circuits are inadvertently activated during tuning.

  3. 3

    3. Check the stability of the control power supply to the drive, ensuring no momentary interruptions.

  4. 4

    4. Review the PLC or HMI logic to ensure no stop commands are issued prematurely during auto-tuning.

  5. 5

    5. Restart the auto-tuning process, paying close attention to the drive's status display throughout the procedure.
