External Fault

What does EF0 mean?

This fault indicates an external condition has triggered a protective response from the inverter. The specific action taken by the inverter (e.g., ramp to stop, coast to stop, alarm) is determined by parameter F9-03. This is typically activated by an external safety circuit or process interlock.

• Activation of an external safety device (e.g., emergency stop button, external motor thermal overload relay, pressure switch).
• Incorrect wiring of the external fault input (e.g., short or open circuit on the terminal block).
• External fault input parameter (e.g., P5-01 for function, P5-02 for logic) incorrectly configured.
• Failure of the external device itself, causing a false fault signal.
• Interference or noise on the external fault input signal line, leading to an unintended trip.
