Motor Overtemperature

ABB · ACS560 Standard Control Program Firmware

¿Qué significa 4310 ?

The motor temperature is excessively high (or detected as such) due to factors like excessive load, insufficient motor power, inadequate cooling, or incorrect start-up data. This condition can severely degrade motor insulation, reduce motor lifespan, and lead to premature motor failure if left unresolved.

Causas comunes

  • Continuous motor operation above its rated current (P1-15) due to an overloaded mechanical system.
  • Blocked motor cooling fins or obstructed external cooling fan, preventing efficient heat dissipation from the motor casing.
  • Incorrect motor parameters (e.g., P1-01, P1-02, P1-03) entered into the drive, leading to suboptimal motor control and increased losses.
  • Ambient temperature surrounding the motor exceeding its specified operating limit (e.g., 40°C).
  • Failure of an internal motor cooling fan, leading to heat buildup within the motor windings.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Measure the motor winding temperature using an infrared thermometer or by checking the integrated PTC/PT100 sensor resistance.

  2. 2

    2. Monitor the motor current (P1-15) and compare it against the motor's rated current (from nameplate), reducing mechanical load if necessary.

  3. 3

    3. Inspect motor cooling fins for dust and debris, clean thoroughly, and ensure the motor's external cooling fan is running properly.

  4. 4

    4. Verify all motor nameplate data (P1-01 to P1-04) are accurately entered into the drive's configuration parameters.

  5. 5

    5. Measure the ambient temperature around the motor enclosure and ensure it is within the motor's specified operating range.
