Software Overcurrent
Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency
¿Qué significa F63 ?
This fault is triggered by the drive's software when the output current exceeds a set limit. It suggests that the load requirements are too high or that parameter A098 [SW Current Trip] is set too low for the application. This is an Auto-Reset/Run type fault configurable with parameters A092 and A093.
Causas comunes
- Motor operating in a heavily overloaded condition, causing current to exceed the drive's A098 [SW Current Trip] setting.
- Rapid acceleration of a high inertia load, causing current spikes that exceed the software trip limit.
- The parameter A098 [SW Current Trip] is set too low for the application's actual operating current requirements.
- Incorrect motor data entered (e.g., P0-30 [Motor Rated Current], P0-31 [Motor Rated RPM]), leading to miscalculation of overcurrent protection.
- Mechanical binding or increased friction in the driven equipment (e.g., seized bearings, obstructed conveyor), increasing motor load.
Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación
Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.
- 1
Measure the actual motor current during operation using a clamp-on ammeter and compare it against the drive's current display and the A098 [SW Current Trip] setting.
- 2
Increase acceleration time (e.g., P0-34 [Accel Time 1]) to reduce current spikes during startup, especially for high inertia loads.
- 3
Verify the A098 [SW Current Trip] parameter value. Adjust it to 150-180% of the motor rated current if application demands justify it, while ensuring motor protection.
- 4
Confirm that all motor nameplate data (P0-30 to P0-33) is correctly entered into the drive's parameters.
- 5
Mechanically inspect the driven equipment for friction, binding, or obstructions that could increase the motor load; rectify any issues found.
