Power board over temp

Danfoss · VLT Micro Drive FC 51

¿Qué significa 29 ?

The heat-sink cut-out temperature of the drive's power board has been reached, indicating excessive internal temperature. This can be caused by high ambient temperature, blocked ventilation, sustained overload, or a malfunctioning cooling fan, risking damage to power components.

Causas comunes

  • Ambient temperature inside the control cabinet exceeding the drive's specified operating limit (e.g., above 40°C or 50°C).
  • Blocked or restricted airflow to the drive's heatsink due to dust accumulation, debris, or improper cabinet ventilation.
  • Failure of one or more cooling fans within the drive, preventing heat dissipation from the heatsink.
  • Sustained operation at high output current close to or exceeding the drive's continuous current rating (e.g., Inom).
  • Malfunction of the internal thermal sensor providing an erroneous high temperature reading.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Verify the ambient temperature inside the control cabinet does not exceed the drive's maximum operating temperature (e.g., typically 40-50°C).

  2. 2

Inspect the drive's heatsink and cooling fans for dust buildup, obstructions, or non-functional fan blades.

  3. 3

Confirm cabinet ventilation fans are operating correctly and air filters are clean, ensuring proper airflow around the drive.

  4. 4

Monitor the drive's output current (via LCP display) and compare it against its continuous current rating (e.g., LCP data view P16-10).

  5. 5

Check Parameter P1-30 (Motor Current) to ensure it is correctly configured for the motor's nominal current, preventing overcurrent situations.
