I²xt overload advance warning

Lenze · 9300 Series

¿Qué significa 018 ?

This is an advance warning for an I²xt overload, indicating frequent and excessively long acceleration processes with motor overcurrent, or permanent motor overload where Imotor > Irmotor. It signals an impending trip condition if conditions do not change.

Causas comunes

  • Repetitive short-duration overloads, such as frequent starts or rapid acceleration with high inertia, pushing the motor's thermal limits.
  • Motor parameters (e.g., C0020 Motor current, C0030 Overload factor) are set close to the operational threshold, triggering the warning prematurely.
  • Increased mechanical load or friction in the driven system, causing the motor to draw higher current than typical for extended periods.
  • Inadequate motor cooling due to dust buildup on fins or high ambient temperature, leading to faster thermal buildup even at nominal current levels.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Observe the motor current (e.g., parameter P0005) on the drive display during various load conditions and compare to the motor's rated current.

  2. 2

    2. Verify that motor protection parameters (e.g., C0020 Motor rated current) are correctly set according to the motor nameplate data.

  3. 3

    3. Increase acceleration and deceleration times (e.g., C0026, C0027) to reduce current peaks and cumulative thermal stress during transient operations.

  4. 4

    4. Check the motor and its cooling fan for accumulated dust, debris, or obstructions that might impede airflow, and clean if necessary.

  5. 5

    5. Use an infrared temperature gun to measure the motor casing temperature and compare it to its rated operating temperature (if available).
