Auto-tuning fault

Schneider Electric · ATV32HD11N4 Variable Speed Drive

¿Qué significa tnF ?

An auto-tuning process has failed, likely due to using a special motor, a motor whose power is unsuitable for the drive, or the motor not being properly connected during the auto-tuning sequence. This prevents the drive from accurately characterizing the motor.

Causas comunes

  • Motor not connected to the drive output terminals (U, V, W) during the auto-tuning sequence.
  • Incorrect motor parameters (e.g., Motor nominal power P2-01, Motor nominal current P2-02) entered into the drive, not matching the physical motor's nameplate.
  • Special motor types (e.g., synchronous reluctance, servo motors without specific VFD support, very small motors) that are incompatible with the drive's auto-tuning algorithm.
  • Load attached to the motor during static auto-tuning, preventing it from executing the necessary magnetizing current tests.
  • Insufficient power supply to the drive during auto-tuning, causing voltage sag or instability.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Ensure the motor is securely connected to the drive output terminals (U, V, W) with proper wiring and tight connections; verify continuity of motor cable.

  2. 2

    2. Verify that all motor nameplate data (power P2-01, current P2-02, voltage P2-03, frequency P2-04, speed P2-05) is accurately entered into the drive parameters.

  3. 3

    3. Disconnect the mechanical load from the motor shaft before initiating auto-tuning, if the drive requires a no-load condition for static tuning.

  4. 4

    4. If using a line reactor or output filter, ensure it is compatible with the drive and motor, and that its presence does not interfere with the tuning process.

  5. 5

    5. Check the incoming line voltage (L1, L2, L3) at the drive input terminals during the auto-tuning process to ensure it remains stable and within tolerance.

  6. 6

    6. If the motor is known to be a special type, consider disabling auto-tuning and manually entering motor parameters or consulting the drive manual for specific tuning procedures.
