F18

Relay(s) Welded

Schneider Electric · XW Pro NA Operation Guide

¿Qué significa F18 ?

This Manual Fault indicates that the AC1 L2 transfer relay is faulty, or an external AC source was incorrectly wired directly to the AC output. This can lead to improper power transfer and potential damage to the inverter.

Causas comunes

  • Excessive current draw through the AC1 L2 transfer relay causing contacts to arc and weld shut.
  • Malfunction of the relay's internal mechanism due to mechanical stress or aging.
  • Incorrect external wiring of a live AC source directly to the inverter's AC1 L2 output terminal.
  • Short circuit or ground fault on the AC1 L2 output path, leading to prolonged high current through the relay.
  • Defective relay control circuit, continuously energizing the AC1 L2 relay coil without proper disengagement.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

De-energize all AC sources and measure continuity across the AC1 L2 transfer relay contacts with the relay commanded OFF (should be open circuit).

  2. 2

Visually inspect AC1 L2 output wiring for any incorrect direct connections from an external AC source to the inverter output terminals.

  3. 3

Check the relay drive circuit voltage (e.g., 24VDC or 12VDC) at the coil terminals to ensure it drops to 0V when the relay is commanded OFF.

  4. 4

Measure current draw on the AC1 L2 output under normal operation to ensure it does not exceed the relay's rated current.

  5. 5

Isolate the AC1 L2 circuit from all loads and sources, then cycle the inverter's transfer function to observe if the relay physically engages/disengages.
