Overtemperature in brake

SEW Eurodrive · Drives

¿Qué significa 89 ?

The integrated motor brake has exceeded its safe operating temperature limit. This is often caused by frequent braking cycles, continuous brake slipping, or high ambient temperatures affecting the brake mechanism.

Causas comunes

  • Frequent braking cycles leading to excessive heat generation
  • Continuous slipping of the brake during operation
  • High ambient temperature affecting the motor brake
  • Damage or malfunction of the brake coil

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Verify drive parameters related to brake control (e.g., release/engage times, holding voltage/current) against application requirements and manufacturer specifications.

  2. 2

Inspect the mechanical condition of the motor brake, checking for signs of wear, correct air gap, and any obstructions causing drag or slipping.

  3. 3

Measure the actual brake control voltage/current at the motor terminal block to confirm it matches the drive output and specified brake coil voltage.

  4. 4

Measure the ambient temperature around the motor and brake assembly, and inspect the motor cooling fan for proper operation and clear airflow.
