MCB State Fault

Vacon · NXP AFE-II Drive

¿Qué significa F64 ?

The Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) state is inconsistent with the drive's command. This includes scenarios where the MCB opens when commanded to close, closes when commanded to open, opens externally while the AFE unit is running, or is in a tripped state as reported by a digital input. This is a critical safety and operational fault.

Causas comunes

  • Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) mechanical failure, preventing it from consistently opening or closing when commanded.
  • Auxiliary contacts on the MCB providing feedback to the drive are damaged, miswired, or sticking.
  • Interruption or short circuit in the control wiring to the MCB's closing or opening coils.
  • An external protective device (e.g., thermal overload, short circuit protection) caused the MCB to trip independently.
  • Insufficient control voltage (e.g., 24VDC) supplied to the MCB's coil preventing proper operation.
  • Parameter P5-05 (MCB Close Delay Time) configured too short, causing a timing mismatch between command and actual state.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Manually operate the MCB to observe its mechanical action and confirm it closes and opens freely.

  2. 2

Measure continuity across the MCB's auxiliary contacts in both open and closed states to verify correct feedback operation.

  3. 3

Inspect the control voltage (e.g., 24VDC) supplied to the MCB's closing and opening coils, ensuring it is nominal.

  4. 4

Check for external trip indicators or flags on the MCB that might explain an uncommanded opening.

  5. 5

Verify the integrity of the control wiring between the drive's control terminals and the MCB's auxiliary contacts and coils.

  6. 6

Adjust parameter P5-05 (MCB Close Delay Time) to a longer duration if repeated faulting indicates a timing issue.
