Microprocessor watchdog fault

Vacon · NXS NXP

¿Qué significa 25 ?

The drive's internal microprocessor watchdog has triggered, indicating that the control software or hardware has become unresponsive or entered an unexpected state. This can be due to an operational malfunction or a defective internal component. A persistent watchdog fault prevents proper drive control and operation.

Causas comunes

  • Software deadlock or infinite loop in the drive's control firmware, preventing the microprocessor from resetting the watchdog timer.
  • Hardware malfunction on the control board (e.g., defective crystal oscillator, unstable clock) causing the microprocessor to halt.
  • Severe electromagnetic interference (EMI) corrupting processor instructions or memory access, leading to an unexpected state.
  • Insufficient processing power or memory exhaustion due to complex application code or excessive background tasks.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Perform a power cycle of the drive (main power off, wait 30 seconds, main power on) to fully reset the control unit.

  2. 2

Upload the drive's parameter set and compare against a known good configuration, looking for recently changed or out-of-range values.

  3. 3

Update the drive's firmware to the latest available version to address potential software bugs or stability improvements.

  4. 4

Verify the stability of the internal control power supplies (e.g., 5VDC, 3.3VDC) using a multimeter if test points are accessible.

  5. 5

Ensure proper grounding of the drive chassis and check for external sources of EMI affecting the control board.
