The maximum permissible size of the process image has been exceeded. This indicates that the combined data requirements of the connected I/O modules are too large for the controller's process image memory, preventing proper data exchange between the controller and I/O modules.

• Too many I/O modules connected, or modules with large data footprints, exceeding the controller's process image memory limits.
• Incorrect configuration of I/O modules leading to an oversized process image.
• Attempting to map an excessive number of input/output bits into the controller's process image.
