Drive Overload 2 (Ambient Temperature)
Yaskawa · E7 Drive
¿Qué significa OL2 ?
An OL2 fault indicates that the drive's internal overload protection level has been automatically reduced because the ambient temperature around the drive exceeds its specified rating, as configured in L8-12. This protects the drive's output power components from overheating under high load conditions. Continuous operation in an overly warm environment can lead to component degradation and drive failure.
Causas comunes
- Ambient temperature in the drive's electrical enclosure or immediate vicinity exceeds the drive's maximum specified rating.
- Inadequate ventilation or cooling within the control cabinet housing the drive, causing heat buildup.
- External heat sources (e.g., other equipment, direct sunlight) generating excessive heat near the drive.
- Blocked air circulation paths to the drive's cooling fins or obstructed exhaust vents.
- The drive is consistently operating at or near its maximum current limit in an already warm environment.
Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación
Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.
- 1
1. Measure the ambient temperature inside the control cabinet with a thermometer and compare to the drive's specified operating range.
- 2
2. Verify that control cabinet cooling fans are operational and air filters are clean and unobstructed.
- 3
3. Ensure all drive ventilation openings are clear of dust, debris, or any physical obstructions.
- 4
4. Evaluate the enclosure for proper sizing, heat dissipation (e.g., active cooling or air conditioning), and airflow patterns.
- 5
5. Consider reducing the load on the drive or upsizing the drive if it frequently trips due to high ambient temperature conditions.
