Motor overload temperature
Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive High Power
Hva betyr ALARM 10 ?
The motor's electronic thermal protection (ETR) indicates it is too hot. This fault occurs when the motor runs with more than 100% overload for an extended period, risking damage to motor windings and insulation. The frequency converter issues a warning at >90% and trips at 100% (depending on parameter 1-90 Motor Thermal Protection settings).
Vanlige årsaker
- Motor operating under sustained mechanical overload, drawing current above its rated value.
- Insufficient motor cooling due to blocked motor fan, dirty cooling fins, or high ambient temperature.
- Incorrect motor data parameters (P1-03 to P1-07) entered into the frequency converter, leading to an inaccurate thermal model.
- Motor operating at very low speeds for extended periods without independent cooling, reducing its self-cooling effectiveness.
- Voltage imbalance or harmonic distortion from the frequency converter output to the motor.
Reparasjonssteg & Sjekkliste
Klikk på steg for å spore fremgangen.
- 1
Monitor the motor current (parameter 16-10 Output Current) and motor thermal load (parameter 16-30 Motor Thermal) on the frequency converter display.
- 2
Verify motor nameplate data (kW, V, A, Hz, RPM) against the frequency converter's motor setup parameters (P1-03 to P1-07).
- 3
Inspect the motor's cooling fan and cooling fins for obstructions or excessive dirt accumulation.
- 4
Reduce the mechanical load on the motor or consider increasing the motor's power rating for the application.
- 5
Check for correct wiring between the frequency converter and the motor (U, V, W) to ensure no phase loss or imbalance.
