Motor Short-Circuit
Schneider Electric · ALTIVAR 28 Variable Speed Drive
Hva betyr SCF ?
This fault signals a short-circuit or ground fault condition detected at the output of the drive controller or within the motor windings. This is a critical fault that can cause immediate and significant damage to the drive's output stage if not addressed.
Vanlige årsaker
- Motor cable insulation breakdown leading to phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground short circuit.
- Internal motor winding short circuit (turn-to-turn or phase-to-ground).
- Contamination (e.g., conductive dust, moisture) in motor terminal box or drive output terminals.
- Damage to drive output power components (e.g., IGBTs) causing a false short circuit detection.
- Motor cable length exceeding recommended maximum for the drive, increasing capacitance and leakage current.
Reparasjonssteg & Sjekkliste
Klikk på steg for å spore fremgangen.
- 1
1. Disconnect motor cables from drive output terminals (U, V, W).
- 2
2. Perform insulation resistance test on motor windings to ground and between phases at 500VDC (typical minimum 100MΩ).
- 3
3. Measure resistance between motor output terminals U, V, W on the drive; values should be infinite if motor is disconnected.
- 4
4. Visually inspect drive output terminals and motor terminal box for signs of arcing, carbon tracking, or contamination.
- 5
5. Check continuity of motor cables from drive end to motor end for each phase (U to U, V to V, W to W) using a multimeter.
