• Excessive electromagnetic interference (EMI) from unshielded power cables or motor cables running parallel to communication cables.
• Inadequate grounding of the drive system or communication cable shields (e.g., at drive chassis).
• Incorrect termination resistors (e.g., 120 Ohm for RS-485) on the communication bus.
• Loose or corroded connections at the drive's communication port (e.g., RJ45, screw terminals).
• Internal communication circuit component degradation (e.g., transceivers) due to voltage spikes.
