3381

Output phase loss

ABB · ACS580 General Purpose Drive

What does 3381 mean?

The drive has detected a loss of one or more phases between its output terminals and the connected motor. This typically results from a broken cable, loose connection, or open circuit protection, which can lead to motor instability, overheating, or failure if ignored.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Physically inspect all motor connections from the drive output terminals to the motor.

  2. 2

Check the continuity of the motor cables for each phase using a multimeter.

  3. 3

Verify the integrity and state of any contactors, fuses, or disconnects in the motor circuit.

  4. 4

Measure motor winding resistance to ensure the motor itself is not open-phased.
