Motor stall
ABB · ACS580 General Purpose Drive
What does 7121 mean?
The drive has tripped due to a motor stall condition. This fault is triggered when the motor current exceeds the stall current limit, and the output frequency or speed is below its set limit for a configured time. This indicates a severe overload or mechanical blockage, which can cause significant motor or drive damage if persistent.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Immediately check the mechanical load connected to the motor for any jamming, excessive friction, or blockages.
- 2
Inspect the motor for signs of physical damage, overheating, or winding issues.
- 3
Ensure the drive's stall detection parameters (31.25 Stall current limit, 31.26 Stall speed limit, 31.27 Stall frequency limit, 31.28 Stall time) are appropriately configured for the application.
