10021

Hall signals lost or incorrect

ABB · ACS850 Standard Program Firmware

What does 10021 mean?

This error occurs when a feedback type of 'halls only' or 'Encoder + Halls' is used, and the drive detects an illegal Hall sensor state (0 or 7). This typically points to a faulty encoder, especially if it includes simulated hall signals, or issues with its wiring. Unresolved, this prevents accurate motor commutation and control.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Inspect the motor encoder for any physical damage or malfunction, considering internal encoder issues.

  2. 2

Check the quality and integrity of the wiring connected to the motor encoder for breaks, shorts, or loose connections.

  3. 3

Verify that the correct encoder type selection is configured in the drive parameters.

  4. 4

Use Mint Workbench to scope the Encoder Hall State in real-time to look for signal problems or an illegal state.
