7183
BR excess temperature
ABB · ACS880 Firmware
What does 7183 mean?
The brake resistor has overheated beyond its fault limit, indicating it's dissipating too much energy. This can be caused by continuous heavy braking cycles, improper resistor sizing, or inadequate cooling, posing a risk of resistor damage or fire.
Additional Steps
Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.
- 3
Verify the fault limit setting in parameter 43.11 'Brake resistor fault limit' to ensure it's appropriate for the resistor's specifications.
- 4
Ensure that the application's braking cycle adheres to the specified limits for the resistor's continuous and peak power ratings.
