What does 3210 mean?

Excessive intermediate circuit DC voltage has been detected in the ABB ACS800 drive. The DC overvoltage trip limit is calculated as 1.3 × 1.35 × U1max, where U1max is the maximum supply voltage. For a 400V unit (U1max = 415V), the trip level is 728V DC; for 500V units (U1max = 500V), it's 877V DC; and for 690V units (U1max = 690V), it's 1210V DC.

Common Causes

  • Regenerative energy from the motor during deceleration, especially with high inertia loads or short deceleration times.
  • Static overvoltage or transient voltage spikes on the main supply line.
  • Malfunction or incorrect sizing of the brake chopper and brake resistor (if installed).
  • Deceleration time parameter set too short for the application's inertia.
