30001

Controller over-temperature

ABB · Application Error ABB Motion Drives Error trouble shoo

What does 30001 mean?

The drive (MotiFlex e180, MicroFlex e190) has detected that its internal temperature is dangerously hot. The internal temperature sensor reading (TEMPERATURE parameter) has exceeded the predefined TEMPERATURELIMITFATAL value (e.g., e190 3A is 80°C, e190 6A and 9A is 75°C, e180 is 80°C).

Common Causes

  • Insufficient cooling within the drive cabinet or installation environment.
  • Ambient temperature exceeding the drive's specified operating limits.
  • Blocked or obstructed ventilation openings on the drive or cabinet.
  • Excessive load on the drive causing prolonged high current and heat generation.
  • Malfunctioning internal cooling fan (if present).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the drive's ambient operating conditions and ensure proper ventilation and cooling in the cabinet.

  2. 2

Verify all ventilation openings on the drive and cabinet are clear of obstructions and dust buildup.

  3. 3

Measure the ambient temperature inside the drive cabinet to confirm it is within the specified range for the MicroFlex e190 or MotiFlex e180 model.

  4. 4

Monitor the drive's internal temperature using the TEMPERATURE parameter in Mint Workbench.

  5. 5

Ensure the drive is not operating continuously under an overload condition that exceeds its rated capacity.
