F008

Heatsink OvrTmp

Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 520-series Adjustable Frequency AC Drive

What does F008 mean?

The temperature of the drive's heatsink or power module has risen above its predefined safe operating threshold. This indicates inadequate cooling for the power components, potentially caused by environmental factors, blocked airflow, or a faulty cooling fan. Sustained overheating shortens component lifespan.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Inspect the heatsink fins for any blockages, dust, or debris accumulation and clean thoroughly to restore airflow.

  2. 2

Verify that the ambient temperature around the drive has not exceeded its rated maximum operating temperature.

  3. 3

Check the cooling fan for proper operation; ensure it is spinning freely and moving air. Replace the fan if it is faulty or worn.
