Ground Fault
Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 520-series Adjustable Frequency AC Drive
What does F013 mean?
This fault signifies an unintended current path from the motor or drive output system to ground. It typically occurs during motor acceleration or deceleration and can pose a significant safety risk, lead to equipment damage, or cause electrical interference if not promptly addressed. This indicates a breakdown in insulation.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Increase A517 [PM DC Inject Cur] by 50 for each trial if PM speed response is slow or alignment fails after adding load.
- 2
Increase A518 [PM Align Time] to greater than 4.7 seconds if alignment fails during acceleration/deceleration.
- 3
Inspect motor windings, motor cables, and drive output connections for any signs of insulation breakdown, chafing, or short circuits to ground.
- 4
Measure insulation resistance between motor phases and earth using a megger; expect values greater than 1 MΩ.
