IPM OverCurrent
Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 750 AC Drive
What does 35 mean?
The current magnitude has exceeded the trip level set by P1640 [IPM Max Cur], as detected by the Intelligent Power Module (IPM). This fault protects the drive from severe damage due to excessive current. If persistent, it strongly indicates an overload, a short circuit condition in the motor or wiring, or an incorrect setting of P1640.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Inspect the motor and mechanical load for any signs of an overload, mechanical binding, or physical obstruction.
- 2
Verify that P1640 [IPM Max Cur] is set to an appropriate value for the motor and application; it should only be 0 in V/Hz or SVC mode.
- 3
Check motor and power cabling for insulation damage or phase-to-phase/phase-to-ground short circuits.
- 4
If no external cause is found, suspect a potential internal drive hardware failure.
