FA49

Feedback process channel error (1Vss)

Beckhoff · AX5000 Servo Drive

What does FA49 mean?

This diagnostic message signals an error in the analog signal provided by a 1Vss feedback system. The amplitude of the sine/cosine analog signal is detected as too small, falling outside the specified tolerance range (typically 0.53 Vss to 1.34 Vss), leading to unreliable or inaccurate position feedback. This can be caused by faulty wiring, loose connections, or incorrect monitoring parameters. The drive will switch off to prevent uncontrolled operation and ensure safety.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Physically inspect the connection of the 1Vss feedback system, ensuring all cables are securely seated, undamaged, and correctly wired according to the manual's specifications.

  2. 2

Use an external oscilloscope to measure the sine and cosine voltages directly at the feedback connector, verifying that their peak-to-peak amplitude falls within the 0.53Vss to 1.34Vss tolerance range.

  3. 3

In the System Manager, navigate to IDN P-0-0150 (for feedback system 1) or P-0-0180 (for feedback system 2) and check the 'SinCos 1Vss monitoring' settings for correct parameterization and enabled monitoring.
