Error in Output Circuit
Beckhoff · EL2904 TwinSAFE Fail-Safe Output Terminal
What does Diag 2 Flash 10 mean?
A general error has been detected in the terminal's output circuit, not necessarily specific to a single output. This can include faulty test pulses (from external supply or cross-circuit), excessive current draw or open load conditions (current below 20 mA or above 500 mA), or general output voltage issues like short-circuits. This impacts the safe and reliable operation of the terminal's digital outputs.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Check all output circuits for faulty test pulses, external supply, or cross-circuits, and eliminate these conditions.
- 2
Isolate all output lines from parallel routed cables with high capacitive coupling and dynamized signals; lay in separate non-metallic sheathed cables and maintain distance.
- 3
Verify that actuator currents for all connected devices are within the 20 mA to 500 mA limit; select appropriate actuators if necessary.
- 4
Inspect all outputs for short-circuits or excessive voltage drops in supply lines; resolve any short-circuits and ensure proper power supply design.
- 5
Take suitable EMC measures if electromagnetic interference is suspected to be a contributing factor to output circuit errors. If the issue persists, replace the terminal.
