4633
Wire break in phase B
Beckhoff · TwinCAT 2 NC
What does 4633 mean?
A wire break (loss of continuity) has been detected or reported in phase B of the motor connection, either within the drive or at the terminal. This critical fault means one of the motor phases is open-circuited. Attempting to operate the motor with a phase break can lead to severe damage to both the motor and the drive due to unbalanced currents.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Perform a visual inspection of the motor wiring for phase B, from the drive output/terminal to the motor winding.
- 2
Use a multimeter to measure continuity of the phase B cable and winding, checking for opens.
- 3
Tighten all terminal connections for phase B at both the drive and motor ends.
- 4
If a wire break is confirmed, replace the damaged cable or repair the connection.
