Earth (ground) fault
Danfoss · FC302 AC Drives Programming Guide
What does #14 mean?
An earth (ground) fault has been detected, indicating an unintended current path from a phase conductor to the ground. This usually points to damaged insulation in the motor windings or associated cabling, posing a significant safety hazard and a risk of severe damage to the drive or compressor components.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Completely power OFF the unit and disconnect the main power cable from the compressor electrical box.
- 2
Perform an insulation resistance test on the compressor windings to ground using a 'megger' tester set at 500V.
- 3
If the measured insulation resistance is less than 500 KΩ, the fault is likely in the compressor; replace the compressor unit.
- 4
If the measured insulation resistance is greater than 500 KΩ, the fault is likely within the drive or its internal wiring; replace the drive unit.
