ABB · ACS850 Standard Program Firmware
An error has occurred when using the Resolver Adapter (OPT-MF-201 or FB-03) due to a loss of resolver signals. This typically indicates an issue with the wiring to the motor's feedback device, the integrity of the motor connector, or the connections inside the adapter itself, preventing accurate position feedback and control.
Click steps to track your progress.
Power down the drive, then disconnect and inspect the resolver cable for visible damage along its entire length.
Use a multimeter to measure continuity for each wire in the resolver cable from the motor connector to the OPT-MF-201 adapter connector.
Verify the resolver cable shielding is properly terminated at both ends (motor and adapter) to the chassis ground.
Confirm all resolver cable connections at the OPT-MF-201 adapter (e.g., terminals R+, R-, S1, S2, S3, S4) match the manufacturer's wiring diagram.
Check the mechanical integrity of the resolver adapter module; ensure it is fully seated in the drive option slot and secured with fasteners.
Using an oscilloscope, verify the SIN/COS signals from the resolver at the OPT-MF-201 input terminals while rotating the motor shaft manually.
