64A3

Application loading

ABB · ACS880

What does 64A3 mean?

The drive's application file is either incompatible with the current hardware/firmware or has become corrupted during storage or transfer. This critical fault prevents the application from loading and operating the drive, rendering it inoperable.

Common Causes

  • Application file (e.g., custom PLC program, specific control mode) corrupted on internal storage or during transfer.
  • Incompatibility between the loaded application file and the drive's current firmware version (e.g., firmware P0-02).
  • Hardware revision mismatch (e.g., application designed for drive HW R1.0 loaded on HW R2.0).
  • Insufficient memory available to load the application due to fragmentation or other processes.
  • Abrupt power loss during application download or verification process.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Perform a power cycle of the drive by disconnecting input power for 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Verify the compatibility of the application file with the drive's firmware version (e.g., P0-02) and hardware revision.

  3. 3

Re-download the application file using the drive's engineering software.

  4. 4

Try loading a simpler, known good application file (e.g., a basic motor control program).

  5. 5

Perform a full firmware re-installation on the drive.

  6. 6

Verify the checksum of the application file against the original source file.
