65B1

Reference source parametrization

ABB · ACS880

What does 65B1 mean?

A reference source is simultaneously connected to multiple parameters with different units, causing a configuration conflict. This inconsistency prevents correct signal processing and can lead to incorrect drive operation. Refer to warning A6DA for detailed information.

Common Causes

  • Multiple drive parameters (e.g., P1-01 Speed Reference, P1-02 Torque Reference) are simultaneously linked to the same reference source (e.g., analog input AI1).
  • The linked parameters require different units or scaling for the same physical input, causing an irreconcilable conflict (e.g., one requires Hz, another Nm).
  • An internal function block or parameter group is attempting to use a reference source in a way that contradicts its configuration elsewhere.
  • A user-defined parameter set (P9-04) was loaded that contains conflicting reference assignments.
  • Firmware bug in reference handling logic causing misinterpretation of parameter linkages.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Identify all drive parameters currently configured to use the problematic reference source (e.g., using parameter cross-reference in drive software).

  2. 2

Review the required units and scaling for each identified parameter (e.g., P1-01 requires a speed value in Hz, P1-02 requires torque in Nm).

  3. 3

Reassign one of the conflicting parameters to an alternative, unused reference source (e.g., assign P1-02 to a fixed value or a different analog input like AI2).

  4. 4

If using a single analog input for multiple functions, implement a parameter block (e.g., P5-01 Function Block) to independently scale and process the signal for each destination.

  5. 5

Perform a parameter upload, review the configuration in a PC tool, and then re-download the corrected parameter set to the drive.
