FieldPowerOff

Field Power Off Condition

Allen-Bradley · Compact 5000 Digital I/O Modules

What does FieldPowerOff mean?

This diagnostic indicates a field power off condition exists on the module or a specific test point. It signifies a loss of external power supplied to the module's I/O terminals, which powers the connected field devices. The tag automatically resets to 0 when the condition is removed.

Common Causes

  • Loss of 24VDC field power supply to the module's I/O terminals
  • Disconnected or damaged wiring for the field power supply
  • Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse in the field power supply circuit

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the field power supply voltage at the module's designated field power terminals — expect 24VDC.

  2. 2

Check the status of the circuit breaker or fuse protecting the field power supply circuit.

  3. 3

Verify the integrity and connection of all field power wiring at the module and the power supply source.
