A diagnostic value of '1' indicates a general short circuit condition has been detected on a safety output. This can occur due to a short to 24V DC, ground, or between output points, causing the module to fault and turn off the output.

Identify the specific output point Ptxx where the fault is detected via Studio 5000 Logix Designer diagnostics.
Examine the physical wiring connected to output point Ptxx for any damage, improper termination, or contact that could cause a short to 24V DC or system ground.
With power removed from the module and field devices, use a multimeter to measure resistance between the output terminal Ptxx and 24V DC, and between Ptxx and system ground; expect an open circuit (high resistance).
If the output point is part of a paired output, measure resistance between the two output terminals of the pair to check for a short.
If the short circuit was to 24V DC, cycle power to the entire module to reset the diagnostic.
